Athletics:  To try out for any sport, students need to present their certified birth certificate, a copy of their insurance card, parent permission form , physical form, and  and a signed copy of the sportsmanship policy. Links to these two forms and the policy are listed at the bottom of this pagePlease note: the new Sports Medical Forms DO NOT need to be notarized.

Extracurricular activities:  Numerous clubs and activities are available to challenge and provide an outlet for interested students.  Joining an organization is a terrific way to meet new friends and enhance your high school years.  Meeting times will be announced on the daily bulletin, daily announcements, and website.

In order for a student to be eligible to participate in an extracurricular activity or athletics, they:

  • Must be in attendance for at least half of the school day in order to participate in any extracurricular activity or athletic event.
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on the 4.0 scale each semester.
  • Must also pass at least 3 out of 4 classes each grading period.

NCAA Eligibility:  All prospective student-athletes who want to play in NCAA Division I or II intercollegiate athletics must meet the NCAA Eligibility test score, grade point average, and core  course requirements.   Open entry/open exit classes do not count.  Be sure to ask your coach and guidance counselor about these requirements or contact the NCAA Clearinghouse.

For more information, please contact Paul Megna, CCHS Athletic Director, at (754) 323-0200 or paul.megna@browardschools.com.
